Take the ProtectSeals Petition Challenge to Stop Cruel Seal Hunts
Within weeks, Canada’s beautiful harp seal nursery will be transformed into a scene of bloody carnage. The Canadian government will allow 275,000 seals—almost all of them babies as young as 12 days old—to be killed for their fur this year.
But there is new hope for the seals. Right now, the European Commission is considering proposing legislation that would ban seal product trade in the European Union—a move many believe could spell the end of commercial seal hunting globally.
Please take action today to let the EU know you support this ban! Click here to sign the petition. Then, after you’ve signed, please ask your friends to sign it, too.
The five people who get the most friends to sign this pledge will win a cool new seals T-shirt designed by “America’s Next Top Model” judge and world renowned fashion photographer Nigel Barker! And everyone who forwards the pledge will have the option to download one of Nigel’s beautiful seal photos to use as wallpaper for their computer. Read all of the details and contest rules here.
Full Petition Text:
