Can you write ? Do you want to help animals in a unique way ?

Filed under: Accounts from an Animal, All, Heroes — Compassion @ 4:02 am

If you answered “Yes” to the above and have the ability to write an account of an animal going through life on earth either in captivity or as a pet, please consider this voluntary project. The purpose is to enable our readers to vicariously experience what animals go through in their lives on earth. (Think “Charlotte’s Web.) Your story may be fictitious or real, idealistic, joyful, sad or laden with the harsh realities of animal life, preferably using the animal in the first person voice.

Once your story has been deemed appropriate, it will be published as an entry under the new category called “Accounts from an animal”, and with your name (or a pseudonym if you prefer) appearing as the author. You can withdraw your story from the blog anytime.

Disclaimer: My aim is solely to encourage our readers’ (and writers’) ability to empathize with what animals go through. I am not liable for any copyright issues that may arise later as I do not own any of the articles (unless written by me) ; thus as a writer you understand that you will undertake to resolve matters directly with the person(s) who allegedly plagiarized your work, if it happens.

The panel included a former Iranian fighter pilot, Parviz Jafari, who said in 1976 he tried in vain to fire from his jet at an “object which was flashing with intense red, green, orange and blue light” over Tehran. But when he approached, “my weapons jammed and my radio communications garbled.”

A former Air France captain, Jean-Charles Duboc, said in 1994 he and his crew saw ..,. read more here . (Extracted from Yahoo News )

Tell restaurant managers about veal cruelties and ask them to remove veal from their menus.
Also, don’t buy or eat dairy products, because of the dairy industry’s role in veal production.
Ask your state legislators to sponsor bills that would prohibit the use of veal crates.

Dogs in Asia face uncertain outcomes

The World Society for the Protection of Animals said that, after a year-long investigation, it wanted to stop the trade with Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea and Thailand in expensively-priced breeds, such as dalmatians and Yorkshire terriers.

It said pet-shops often held dogs in overcrowded or insanitary conditions and many were bought on a whim and abandoned in the street when they fall sick or have lost their appeal.

The Society said the dogs then faced the prospect of starving or being caught and put down or butchered as meat.  (Adapted from BBC News)
